The City Hotel and its sister, the Fallon Hotel, are authentically restored 19th century country inns. There are 24 rooms, all elegantly appointed with Victorian antiques, custom crafted wall coverings and beautiful lithographs. Two of the rooms at the City Hotel and five at the Fallon Hotel open up onto balconies where one can sit and enjoy the fresh air and street scenes. Each hotel has a sitting parlour where you can peruse books and magazines or participate in one of many board games made available to guests.

While we try to remain as faithful to 19th century decor as possible, modern conveniences such as indoor plumbing, heating and air conditioning have been added for your comfort. Each room has a half bath and guests are provided with shower baskets for the trip down the hall to the shower room. Children are welcome, but pets are not allowed in either hotel. Smoking is also not permitted within any of the buildings.

A generous breakfast buffet is served in the dining room at the City Hotel and in the Ice Cream Parlour at the Fallon Hotel. The menu consists of homemade granola, quiche, seasonal fruit, freshly baked rolls or muffins, orange juice, our special blend coffee, and kids cereals and milk for the children.

Directions:
From SF Bay Area: Take 580 East bound over the Altamont pass. Then 205 through Tracy and briefly onto Highway 5 northbound. Bear right onto the Highway 120 (Yosemite) exit and follow it to Highway 99 North. Stay in the slow lane as you will immediately exit to continue on 120 into Oakdale. From Oakdale take Highway 108/120 East into Sonora, then go North on Highway 49 to Parrotts Ferry Road. Take Parrotts Ferry into Columbia.

From the LA Area: Take either Highway 5 or Highway 99 North through the Central Valley. If you take 5, you will have to cross over to 99 before you get to Merced. In Merced take Highway 59 North (V Street) to Snelling. Just past Snelling, turn left onto J59 to Highway 108. Go east into Sonora, then Highway 49 North to Parrotts Ferry Road. Columbia is on Parrotts Ferry Road.

From Sacramento: Take Highway 16 through Rancho Murieta to Highway 49 South. Continue on 49 all the way into Tuolumne County and then go left on Parrotts Ferry Road. You can also take Highway 99 South and then cross over to Highway 49 along any number of roads (Highway 12 out of Lodi, Highway 4 out of Stockton, Highway 108 out of Manteca). Then follow Highway 49 to Parrotts Ferry.
